SECURITY AND PRIVACY POLICY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE EU GENERAL DATA PROTECTION REGULATION (GDPR) 2016/679 AND THE PUBLICATION OF RESERVATION relevant applicable LAW

General terms

Use of the www.koa.gr website (henceforth “the website”), operated by the Athens State Orchestra, which is based in Athens, Greece, is subject to its terms of use and this PRIVACY STATEMENT / SECURITY AND PRIVACY POLICY (henceforth the Statement or Policy), which forms part of the terms of use.

The Athens State Orchestra respects the personal data of all and every user of the Site. This document summarizes the information that can be collected by the Athens State Orchestra and the ways in which this information can be processed. It also contains information on the actions which users of the Site must take if they do not wish their personal information to be collected or further processed when they visit the Site.

Collection, processing and protection of personal data—Rights of the Data Subject

The Athens State Orchestra does not currently collect or process the personal data of users of its website and the pages that site contains. Therefore, users can currently visit the whole site and the web pages it contains without revealing their identity and without providing any personal data. However, some areas of the site may in the future require users to register and acquire an access code and/or collect their personal data for specific purposes.

Explicitly excluding personal data that falls into special categories (Article 9 of Regulation EU 2016/679) or data relating to users’ criminal offences or convictions, the Athens State Orchestra can, with the explicit consent of the user, maintain an archive of, and process for a period of two (2) years, users' personal data (e.g. name, address, phone number, email address: hereinafter "personal data") which it gains knowledge of through the Site. The Athens State Orchestra will collect users' personal data only when the users provide it voluntarily with a view to securing access to applications or services that will be available via certain areas of the website.

The entering of personal data when the user registers on the site with a view to accessing specific services via the site implies consent to the storing and general processing of that personal data under the terms of this personal data protection policy. However, users are also called upon to specifically and explicitly consent to this by accepting the current document before they complete the registration process.

In the case of users who are minors, consent should be provided by the person who has parental authority over them.

Specifically, the user accepts and consents, under the terms of EU Privacy Regulation 2016/679 and the respective relevant national legislation, to the Athens State Orchestra keeping on file and processing for a period of two (2) years the personal data which will be collected via the website in order to allow the user access to applications provided online, to provide the user with a service, and to support and implement the transactional relationship between each individual user and the State Orchestra of Athens, for statistical or historical reasons as well as, generally, for promoting products and services provided by the Athens State Orchestra with the user's specific consent.

Furthermore the user expressly consents to the Athens State Orchestra sending information, products or services by any electronic means, unless they have explicitly opted not to receive notifications. In all cases, the user can at any time oppose the use of their electronic mailing address or other personal data for the purpose of their being updated about new products and/or services by sending a message to the following email address: info @koa.gr.

The user retains the right at all times to be kept informed about, access, rectify, refute or totally delete or move their Personal Data or to limit its further processing under Articles 12–21 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2016/679. To exercise these rights, users can communicate with the Athens State Orchestra at the following email address: info @koa.gr or contact the Athens Concert Hall by conventional mail at Vas. Furthermore, users retain the right to lodge complaints about infringements of their rights in relation to personal data to the Data Protection Authority.

If users of the Athens State Orchestra website are redirected to third-party websites via links, hyperlinks or banners, the Athens State Orchestra is not liable for the personal data management and protection terms and conditions employed by those sites.

Statistical browsing information.

In some cases, technical information that does not identify the user may be collected automatically (i.e. not via registration) when a user visits or uses the Site. This statistical information does not constitute personal data and does not fall within the scope of Regulation (EU) 679/2016. Examples of information of this type which can be collected include the Internet Browser or computer operating system the user employs to visit the Site and the domain name of the website the user used to connect to the Site.

Use of Cookies

Cookies are data files which are transferred by a web server to the computer of a person who visits the Site in order to permit the gathering of statistical data. Cookies are an industry standard used by most websites; they facilitate repeat access to and use of a particular web location for users. Cookies are not harmful to your computer system or your files, and only the website which transferred a particular cookie to your computer can read, modify or delete it. If you do not wish information to be collected via cookies, you can use the settings provided by most web browsers to delete existing cookies and to choose whether to automatically reject cookies henceforth, to reject or accept specific cookies, or to visit the IAB. Cookie analysis

These cookies gather information about how visitors navigate through our sites, including which pages receive frequent visits and whether guests receive error messages. This allows us to design the Site’s structure, navigation and content in as user-friendly a way as possible. We do not link the statistical data to other information referencing individual natural persons.

We use these cookies to:

  • Record the number of visitors to our sites
  • Record the duration of every visit to our web pages
  • Determine the sequence/order in which users visit the different pages on our site
  • Evaluate those parts of the site which need to be improved
  • Optimize the website

We use Google Analytics to analyze web page use, interactions with web pages, and the routes navigated through our websites. Such data are known as “website metrics” or “analytics”.

Google Analytics is a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. (Google). Google Analytics uses cookies to analyze users’ site usage. Google uses anonymous aggregated statistics to provide the Athens State Orchestra with insights into how its Users use the site.

The Athens State Orchestra will not disclose processable personal data to any third party, unless such an obligation exists or is required by law.

The KOA does not commercially exploit users' personal data.

The KOA does not request personal information from users which it does not require to provide its services.

The Athens State Orchestra promises, declares and guarantees that it has taken and implemented every legal and appropriate technical and organizational measure to safeguard the principles of privacy and personal data protection for its users, from the design stage on and by default.

The KOA states and guarantees that it will safeguard the confidentiality of the information provided to it voluntarily by the user within the framework of their use of the website, that it is compelled to refrain from any processing and/or violation of personal data, and that it will take every measure necessary to prevent accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure or access to personal data.

The Athens State Orchestra declares that all the above measures are in full compliance with the requirements of Regulation (EU) 679/2016 and the entirety of the extant national legislation relating to personal data.

Applicable Law—Jurisdiction

These terms and conditions, any modifications to them, and the use of the Site are governed by Regulation (EU) 679/2016, the Greek law on the protection of personal data, and the legal framework referred to above. For any dispute that may arise from the use of the Website, the Athens courts are designated competent.
