Elena Tavantzi

Elena Tavantzi was born in 1967 in Ružomberok, Slovakia.
She started her first violin lessons at the Ružomberok art and music school at the age of 7, graduating in 1982. In the same year, she continued her studies at the Žilina Conservatory from where she graduated in 1988 with a diploma in honors.
From 1988-1993 she worked in the Slovak Sinfonietta - State Chamber Orchestra of Žilina, with which she appeared in many concerts in important halls in Europe and also in Japan (Wiener Musikverein, Tonhalle Düsseldorf, Symphony Hall Osaka, Metropolitan Art Hall Tokyo) .
In 1993 she became a member of Camerata Orchestra of the Friends of Music. With Camerata she appeared in important concert halls as well as major music festivals (Queen Elizabeth Hall London, Théâtre des Elysées Paris, Musikferaine Vienna, Bath Music Festival, Naantalli Festival in Finland, Haydn Festival in Austria) and had the opportunity to collaborate with great conductors and soloists of the world scene (Sir Neville Marriner, Christopher Hogwood, Thomas Hengelbrock, Yehudi Menuhin, Mstislav Rostropovich, Radu Lupo, Salvatore Accardo, Leonidas Kavakos, Arturo Santoval, Marta Argerich)
In the period 2017-2021 she was artistically active in the Czech Republic, where she collaborated with the Chamber Orchestra of the National Theater of Prague, the South Czech Philharmonic and the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, with which she made a long tour in collaboration with the BBC in Germany, the Netherlands , Belgium, United Kingdom and Ireland.

From March 2022 she became a member of the Athens State Orchestra.
