Astor Piazzola

Revolutions and Revolts IV

Mexico and Argentina are countries with turbulent histories full of revolts and revolutions, but both have noteworthy musical heritages, too. The Mexican maestro Jesus Medina takes us on a fascinating tour of his homeland’s music both older and contemporary. He will also transport our audiences to the sound of Nuevo Tango, as composed by the ever-charming Astor Piazzolla, and the dynamic music of Alberto Ginastera, one of the Americas’ finest 20th-century composers.
