Ludwig van Beethoven's manuscript of the Symphony nr. 3 with the initial dedication erased

Revolutions and Revolts III

Verdi enthusiastically espoused the ideals of the Risorgimento, and his opera Nabucco is particularly bound up with the movement to reunify Italy. Beethoven's celebrated “Eroica” Symphony is, from many points of view, another revolutionary work. Giancarlo Andretta, whose long career as a maestro embraces both opera and symphonic music, will be on the podium for the concert, whose programme also includes the première of a new work by the internationally celebrated composer Christos Hatzis, with our own tireless Theodor Milkov playing the solo part.
