Scene from Bizet's Carmen, by unknown artist

Musical Promenades at the Museums - French perfume

Few months after the astonishing interpretation of Messiaen’s Quartet for the End of Time in the Byzantine and Christian Museum, the Athens State Orchestra returns to this historical place with a concert dedicated to the French musical heritage. This time, the Athens State Orchestra's Woodwind Quintet interprets famous and pioneering compositions: A programme where Bizet’s Carmen comes after Debussy’s “Petite Suite” and where Bozza’s Scherzo, Ibert’s Three Short Pieces and Poulenc’s “Sextet for wind quintet and piano” follow, creating a musical bridge which will transport us in Paris’s charming quartiers by the Seine.
